The organization has offices and contacts in Canada, United States, Holland, Ireland, England and Zambia. The international office is located in Canada. Zambia is currently our field of operation where we have two children's homes, a feeding program and a community based child sponsorship program.
The children's homes each have a house mother, an assistant house mother and a house manager. There is a committee put in place to deal with administrative issues of the home.
A Mercy Touch staff also oversees the feeding program and child sponsorship programs.
Kerry Reath was the first volunteer missionary to be sent from Canada. She teamed up with Regina Miti and the two single ladies opened Mercy Touch first home in 2001, in Hillcrest, Ndola. This home was instrumental in getting the feeding program and community based child sponsorship established.
Ruebi Erfle was the second volunteer to be sent, also from Canada. She opened the second home in Northrise, Ndola. The home also began reaching out to another shanty compound in Ndola. It supports a feeding program and helps the community school.
Bernard and Anne Mukwavi work from the International office with a host of volunteers in Canada.
