January 2012 Update Donalia (Dona) Chilambo - Age: 14 - Birthday: Aug. 26, 1997 - Grade: 9 Dona came to the Mercy Touch Home on the 28th of August 2003. Dona is a very quiet girl with a beautiful smile. She tends to be shy, but will have her say when she wants too. Dona LOVES reading and says that she can finish a small novel in 2 days! She can often be found reading on the bus going to school or on her bed. Dona is in grade nine, she well liked at school and enjoys being with her friends. She is growing very tall and wants to be a journalist.
Kennah Machiko

Jan. 2012 update Kennah Machiko - Age: 20 Birthday: Dec. 26, 1991 Kennah came to the Mercy Touch Home on the 8th of August, 2003. She rewrote her grade twelve in 2011 and is waiting for her results. She is a quiet girl but well liked. She enjoys making friends. She loves to dance many different styles and she loves basketball and volleyball. Kennah has beautiful hair that she straightens and styles in very creative ways for special events. She is currently living with her sister in a nearby district. She aspires to be an accountant, journalist or musician.
Evaline Kinda
   Apr. 6, 1996 (age 13) Grade 6 (Austin and Tresford's Aunt) She is a very good student and has greatly improved over the years. Jan. 2012 update Evaline Kinda, (Tresford and Austin’s aunt) - Age: 15 - Birthday: April 6, 1996 - Grade: 7 Eva came in the Mercy Touch home on the 3rd of January 2002. She is our young-at-heart growing teenager. She is often found with the younger girls as she likes doing hair and playing with dolls. She loves babies and can be found at church holding them or carrying them on her back. Eva is very good natured. Although she is in grade seven this year she struggles academically and is in a special class. Eva is our slow learner, but she is a very good student and has greatly improved over the years, reading is difficult for her, but she is an intelligent girl. Eva is very good at following instructions and completing household tasks. Sometimes she will spontaneously burst into beautiful and original opera style songs while washing her clothes or working in the house. She wants to be a nurse and care for babies when she grows up,

Jan. 2012 update Annah Kayuma - Age: 17 - Birthday: Jan. 6, 1995 - Grade: 10 Annah came into the Mercy Touch Mission Home on 6th January 2004. She is the leader among the girls. She is a capable girl and an excellent chef. Annah is quiet and she likes to read and knit. Annah is very clever and does well in school. When she completes grade 12 she wants to study Law to become a Lawyer. Annah says that if she could visit any country in the world it would be Brazil.

She loves drawing and also has interest in designing; in future she says she would like to be a clothing designer. Patricia is allergic to fish but cooks fish better than anyone else in the house.

Jan. 2012 update Prisca Milisawa - Age: 15 - Birthday: Oct. 9, 1996 - Grade: 9 Prisca came to the Mercy Touch Mission Home on the 9th of October 2003. She is a beautiful girl with a winning smile. She likes to think about life and loves beautiful clothes. She is very efficient in performing tasks and staying organized. She is an average student at school and working at improving. When Prisca grows older she wants to study hotel management/hospitality and one day work in a hotel.
Bupe Precious Tembo  July 23, 2001 (age 8) Grade 3 (Austin's Brother) Subjects: Math, English, Social, Science Hobbies: She loves to play with balls and with her brothers and sisters Her favorite colors are red, green, yellow, orange, blue, white and pink. Jan. 2012 update Bupe Precious Tembo - Age: 10 - Birthday: July 20, 2001 - Grade: 5 Bupe came to the Mercy Touch Home on 11th October 2008. She is extremely bright and loves asking difficult questions and interacting with the world around her. Bupe is diligent and obedient. She is an extravert and loves being close to people. When Bupe grows older she wants to become a medical doctor.

Jan. 2012 update Miless Ngoma - Age: 13 - Birthday: May 5, 1998 - Grade: 6 Miless came to the Mercy touch Home on 20th December 2005. She is a happy girl that likes wearing a smile on her face. She is very photogenic and loves to sing, dance and tell stories. She is also good at braiding hair and enjoys braiding the hair of the girls in the home. When Miless grows older she wants to be a business woman so that she can earn money and help people.

Jan. 2012 update Justina Kapiliya - Age: 8 - Birthday: Nov. 22, 2003 - Grade: 2 Justina is the youngest girl in the girls’ home she came to the Mercy Touch Home on the 14th of March 2011. She has a strong personality; very active has no interest in watching TV but likes playing. Justina also likes getting everyone’s attention. She loves dancing and singing. She would like to be a pastor or a nurse when she grows up.

He is an extravert and very social, so any excuse to visit people will do. He also loves watching movies. He does well in school and likes to tell stories of what happens there.

Bruce Musonda

Jan. 2012 update Bruce Musonda - Age: 15 - Birthday: Nov. 22, 1995 - Grade: 9 Bruce is an inquisitive young teenager that likes asking questions. He is well behaved and has a pleasant personality. He loves to greet people and will come find you to say “Hi”. Bruce likes planting things and seeing them grow. He is in grade nine and is very studious with his homework and gets good grades. One of Bruce’s brothers said this about him, “The thing I like most about Bruce is that he knows where he is going and is diligent. I know that no matter what obstacles he faces he will overcome them all.” When he grows up he wants to become a Pilot. Bruce is the only HIV positive child at Mercy Touch, he is healthy and doing well.

Jan. 2012 update Chimwemwe M’tonga - Age: 18 - Birthday: March 10, 1993 - Grade: 11 Chimwemwe came into the Mercy Touch Home in October 2001. He is hard working, playful, and loud. He is doing his grade 11 at Nkumbi International. He loves to make jokes and laugh. Chimwemwe is an excellent cook and likes to try new things. He is dependable with household duties and will often help his brothers when it is their turn to cook. He loves football very much. When home on holidays he is often busy in the hammer mill on the farm.
Austin Banda

Jan. 2012 update Austin Banda (Tresford’s brother) - Age: 17 - Birthday: Sept. 8, 1994 - Grade: 11 Austin came in the Mercy Touch Home on the 3rd of January 2002. He continues to grow taller and taller everyday. He is easy going and lovable. Austin is very playful. We often refer to him as a boy in a big man’s body. Austin is in grade 11, and is a very quick learner. He can often see underlying themes and likes bringing them out and encouraging others. He is also very talented with taking things apart and often has success at fixing them. He enjoys working with his hands. When he completes School he wants to become a contractor or a Scientist.
Elvis Kangwa Pascicali

Jan. 2012 update Elvis Kangwa - Age: 19 - Birthday: Feb. 6, 1992 - Grade: 11 Elvis came to Mercy Touch Home on 5th December 2002. Elvis is a quiet, humble boy. He is in grade 11 at Nkumbi International School (a boarding school). He loves music and is very caring and sensitive to others. He loves to encourage his friends. When Elvis completes school he wants to become a missionary and preach the gospel to the lost.
Tresford Banda
   Nov. 2, 1991 (age 18) Grade 12 (Austin's Brother) Subjects: Math, English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography Hobbies: Music - especially the guitar and drums, he can also play the keyboard. Playing soccer and volley ball, reading “interesting” story books, also likes meeting people and “talking”. He is a good preacher. Ambitions: Businessman and pastor
Jan. 2012 update Tresford Banda - Age: 20 - Birthday: November 2, 1991 Tresford came to the Mercy Touch Home on 3rd January 2002. He is now 20 years old and completed high school in 2010. Tresford rewrote his grade twelve exam in 2011 and he is waiting for the results which will probably be out end of February 2012. He wants to take a business course in college and become a businessman. Tresford has become a skilled musician with the keyboard, both acoustic and bass guitars, as well as the drums. He is the oldest child in Mercy Touch. He is learning to be independent as he works part time and lives on his own at the farm.
Alfred Tembo
June 15, 1995 (age 14) Grade 4 (Lackson's Brother) Subjects: Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Bema (the local language). He is currently working on learning English. Hobbies: Loves racing cars, reading, watching cartoons, toys, marbles, playing games, tennis and basketball.Alfred is a good fit into our home, he and his brother Lackson are the newest members of our home. Jan. 2012 update Alfred Tembo, (Lackson’s Brother) - Age: 16 - Birthday: June 15, 1995 - Grade: 6 Alfred came to Mercy Touch Mission International Home on the 26th of October, 2007. He is a lovable outspoken teenage boy. He is a very determined boy and will stand up for what he thinks is right. He is interested in technology and loves being on the computer. He also likes taking interesting pictures and videos of himself and others. He isn’t fond of cooking but loves being in the thick of a hand’s on project. He is motivated and is the first to hop out of bed in the morning. Alfred is in sixth grade. He is very intelligent and comes top of his class. He loves reading and is a man’s man.
Lackson Tembo  Nov. 10, 1993 (age 16) Grade 5 (Alfred's Brother) Subjects: Math, Science, English, Social Development Studies, Bema (the local language)Favorite Color: Orange Favorite Bible Character: Moses Hobbies: Soccer! Reading, cars, telling stories, opening the gate for visitors, volleyball, running, being outdoors. He especially likes sports and his friends. He also likes spending time praying and cooking. Jan. 2012 update Luckson Tembo - Age: 18 - Birthday: Dec. 4, 1993 - Grade: 7 Luckson came in the Mercy Touch Home on the 8th of January 2008. He is a soft hearted young man. He is a hard worker and every Saturday you can find him hard at work in the hammer mill grinding maize (corn) into flour. It is a long, messy job as the flour coats every inch of exposed skin and clothing. Lackson likes to play football and is a gentleman. Lackson is very muscular and flexible and can perform amazing feats with his body. He wants to be a pilot.
